The pronlem I see is not 'the vision' of ultimate unity in diversity but what the steps on the way referred to imply and will entail. The very process of raising a new structure on what is regarded as a 'holy site' undermines the sanctity and peace of the area during the time of building. Not to mention the socio-political uproar regarding an initiative conceived of by orthodox Jews apparently. Violent repercussions would likely ensue and bring about the opposite of what is envisioned, no? Is this project to be with the consent and collaboration with Muslims who live and worship here? Furthermore, is not the entire Earth God's Holy Temple and land worship a form of idolatry?
